The recovery rate calculates how many cents on the dollar claimants (creditors, tax authorities, and employees) recover from an insolvent firm. Information comes from local insolvency practitioners, laws and regulations as well as public information on bankruptcy systems. The recovery rate for economies with “no practice” (i.e., fewer than 5 cases a year over the past 5 years) is 0.
