Dominican Republic Inflation Rate at 3.29 percent


The inflation rate in Dominican Republic decreased to 3.29 percent year-on-year in September of 2018 from 3.87 percent in the prior month. It was the lowest inflation rate since August last year, as prices slowed mostly for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.76 percent vs 3.32 percent in August); transport (7.20 percent vs 7.29 percent) and housing (4.26 percent vs 4.51 percent). Inflation also softened for: restaurants & hotels (2.07 percent vs 2.16 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (2.79 percent vs 2.82 percent); health (3.21 percent vs 3.36 percent); recreation & culture (2.22 percent vs 2.27 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (4.70 percent vs 6.71 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.08 percent, following a 0.30 percent rise in August.
