Considering the January- August period of 2018, shipments climbed 58.8 percent to EUR 3,274 million compared to the same period of 2017.

Meanwhile, exports increased 4.1 percent to EUR 264.7 million, as sales to countries outside the EU jumped 58.7 percent to EUR 194.2 million whereas those to EU countries fell 46.6 percent to EUR 70.5 million. Considering the January- August period of 2018, the trade gap narrowed to EUR 2,575 million from EUR 2,964 million, as exports climbed 58.8 percent to EUR 3,274 million and imports rose at a slower 16.4 percent to EUR 5849 million.
