Ibovespa Opens 2026 Slightly Higher

The Ibovespa edged up to trade above 161,000 on Friday, as global markets opened 2026 with equities extending last year’s rally.
Corporate news focused on dividend, interest on equity, and bonus share announcements from CPFL Energia (+0.5%), CSN Mineração (+0.2%), Sendas (+1%), and Marisa (+2%).
Banks traded higher, with Itaú up 0.8% and Bradesco rising over 1%.
Vale gained 0.5% as iron ore prices edged up, while Petrobras slipped 0.5% amid lower oil prices.
Elsewhere, Ambev advanced 0.4%, Eletrobras rose 1.6%, Vivo gained 0.8%, Rede D’Or added 1%, and Raia Drogasil jumped more than 2%.
On the macro front, the S&P Global Brazil Manufacturing PMI fell to 47.6 in December 2025 from 48.8 in November, the sharpest deterioration since September.
