South Korea Inflation Down to 1.6 Percent in November


The Consumer Price Index was 106.5 (2010=100) in November 2012. The index decreased 0.4 percent from the preceding month and rose 1.6 percent from November 2011.

Month-on-month, the index for Clothing and footwear increased 1.6 percent and the index for Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Health and Restaurants and hotels went up 0.1 percent respectively in November.

Compared with October, the index for Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Transport, Recreation and culture and Miscellaneous goods and services decreased 2.5 percent, 0.9 percent, 0.8 percent and 0.2 percent in November.

The index for Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Furnishings, household equipment & routine maintenance, Communication, Education were unchanged in November, in relation to the preceding month.
