Provisional estimates showed cost of food and beverages rose 3.5 percent yoy, slowing sharply from a 5.68 percent increase in October. The food alone index rose 3.14 percent, easing from 5.59 percent in the previous month. Cost of vegetables fell 10.9 percent and fruit prices increased at a slower 13.74 percent (17.49 percent in October). Prices of oils and fats dropped 0.83 percent and sugar prices decreased 0.28 percent.
Cost of fuel and light rose 3.27 percent in November, marginally unchanged from 3.29 percent in the previous month and cost of clothing and footwear slowed to 6.97 percent from 7.45 percent in October.
The corresponding provisional inflation rates for rural and urban areas for November of 2014 are 4.09 percent and 4.69 percent.
