India's Trade Deficit Narrows in November


India's trade deficit stood at Rs. 1056.48 billion in November as imports increase to Rs. 2277.96 billion while exports sink to 1221.48 billion.

Exports during November, 2012 were valued at Rs.1221.48 billion which was 3.22 per cent lower in Rupee terms than the level of Rs. 1183.41 billion during November, 2011. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-November 2012 was Rs. 10304.88 billion as against Rs. 93304.97 billion registering a negative growth of 5.95 per cent in Dollar terms and growth of 10.44 per cent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

Imports during November, 2012 were valued at Rs. 2277.96 billion representing a growth of 14.55 per cent in  Rupee terms over the level of imports valued at Rs.1988.61 billion in November, 2011. Cumulative value of imports for the period April-November, 2012 was Rs. 1735 billion as against Rs. 15034.93 billion registering a negative growth of 15.40 per cent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.
 
The trade deficit for April - November, 2012 was estimated at Rs. 70450.99 billion which was higher than the deficit of Rs. 57044.30 billion during April -November, 2011.
