Tanzania Inflation Rate at 14-Month High


Annual inflation rate in Tanzania accelerated to 6.6 percent in November of 2015 from 6.3 percent in the previous month. It is the highest figure since September last year.

Year-on-year, food inflation went up to 11.2 percent from 10.2 percent in October, the biggest gain since February of 2013, boosted by rice, maize, meat, fish, beans and sweet potatoes.
 
On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.8 percent, after edging up 0.1 percent in October.
