Russia’s Unemployment Rate Up to 5.5% in October



In October, Russian unemployment rate was reported at 5.5 percent, up from 5.3 percent in the previous month. The number of unemployed people increased to 4.1 million, from 3.99 million in September.

In October, the economically active population slightly decreased to 75.7 million, down from 75.8 million in September, which accounts for 53 percent of the total population of Russia.

The number of officially registered unemployed, at 849 thousand persons, decreased by 14 percent when compared to the same month a year earlier and by 3.4 percent from a month earlier.
