Euro Area Inflation Down to 2.5 Percent in October


Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 2.5 percent in October 2012, down from 2.6 percent in September, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

The main components of euro area inflation,energy (7.8 percent compared with 9.1 percent in September) is expected to have the highest annual rate in October, followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (3.2 percent compared with 2.9 percent), services (1.8 percent compared with 1.7 percent) and non-energy industrial goods (1.1 percent compared with 1.2 percent).
