Euro Area Inflation Rate at 0%

Consumer prices in the Eurozone are expected to be flat year-on-year in October of 2015, after falling 0.1 percent in September. The inflation rate came in line with market expectations, remaining far away from the ECB’s 2 percent target.

Year-on-year, food, alcohol & tobacco is expected to have the highest increase (1.5 percent, compared with 1.4 percent in September), followed by services (1.3 percent, compared with 1.2 percent in September) and non-energy industrial goods (0.4 percent, compared with 0.3 percent in September).

In contrast, energy cost is expected to fall 8.7 percent, after an 8.9 percent drop in September.

Core inflation rate which excludes prices of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco is expected to increase slightly to 1 percent from 0.9 percent in September.

Excluding energy, consumer prices rose 1.1 percent, higher than 1 percent in the previous month.
