China Economy Grows 1.8% QoQ in Q3

The Chinese GDP expanded a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted 1.8 percent in the third quarter of 2015, the same pace as an upwardly revised expansion reported in the June quarter and slightly above market consensus.

Year-on-year, the GDP advanced by 6.9 percent, slightly down from 7.0 percent in the second quarter of 2015, mainly due to a slowdown in industrial output, sluggish property investment and a contraction in exports.

For 2015, the government expects the economy to grow around 7 percent, the slowest expansion in 25 years.

In 2014, the GDP grew by 7.4 percent, slowing from 7.7 percent in the preceding year.
