Mexico Unemployment Rate Up to 5.29% In September


In September of 2013, Mexican jobless rate slightly increased for the fourth consecutive month to 5.29 percent, from 5.17 percent in August and 5.01 percent a year earlier.

Unemployment rate for men increased to 5.15 percent and the one for women rose to 5.52 percent.

Underemployment rate decreased in September to 8.3 percent, from 8.9 percent a year earlier.

Among employed people 41.8 percent were working in services, 19.6 percent in commerce, 16.3 percent in manufacturing, 13.5 percent in agriculture and 7.2 percent in construction.
