Euro Area Inflation Rate Slows in September


Euro Area annual inflation rate is expected to slow to 0.3 percent in September from 0.4 percent in August. It is the lowest rate since October of 2009.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services is expected to have the highest annual rate in September (1.1 percent, compared with 1.3 percent in August), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (0.2 percent, compared with -0.3 percent in August), non-energy industrial goods (0.1 percent, compared with 0.3 percent in August) and energy (-2.4 percent, compared with -2.0 percent in August). 

Core inflation rate, which strips out prices of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco is expected to slow to 0.8 percent in September from 0.9 percent in the previous month.
