Spain Inflation Rate at 7-Month Low

Consumer prices in Spain are expected to drop 0.9 percent year-on-year in September of 2015, falling for the second straight month and posting the deepest decrease since February.

Falling electricity and fuel prices (diesel and gasoline) keep dragging the inflation rate down. In August, consumer prices decreased 0.4 percent year-on-year.

The monthly inflation rate is expected to be -0.3 percent in September, the same as in August.

The harmonized index is estimated to fall 1.2 percent year-on-year, compared to a 0.5 percent drop in August but rise 0.4 percent on a monthly basis, rebounding from a 0.4 percent decrease in the previous month.
