Mexico Unemployment Rate at 9-Month High


Mexican jobless rate rose to 4.72 percent in July of 2015 from 4.41 percent in June, but in line with market expectations.

The labour force participation rate was roughly unchanged at 60 percent from 60.1 percent in the previous month. 95.3 percent were working (down from 95.6 percent in June) while more people said could work more hours (8.5 percent from 8.4 percent in June). 

A year earlier, unemployment was higher at 5.47 percent.  

Upon seasonal adjustment, the unemployment rate went down to 4.31 percent from 4.39 percent in June.
