Russia Unemployment Rate Unchanged in July


Russian jobless rate remained stable at 4.9 percent for the second straight month in July of 2014. It is the lowest rate in more than eleven years.

The number of unemployed people was recorded at 3.7 million in July, almost unchanged from 3.69 million in June.  A year earlier, there were 4.01 million unemployed people.

850 thousand people were officially registered as unemployed in July, 20,000 less than in the previous month. 

Nominal wages increased 9.4 percent year-on-year in July, following a 10.1 percent increase in June while real wages rose 1.8 percent. Real disposable income increased 2.3 percent in July, following a 2.9 percent drop in the previous month.
