Swiss Unemployment Rate Up to 3.0% in June


In July, Switzerland's unemployment rate rose 0.1 percentage points to 3.0 percent. Compared to the same month last year, unemployment increased by 12,222 people (+10.5 percent). Youth unemployment increased by 2,065 persons to 17,631.

At the end of July, there were 128 516 persons registered as unemployed at the regional employment centers, 2 018 more than in the previous month. The number of job openings declined by 610 to 14 037.

A total of 181,398 people were looking for a job, 1,592 more than in the previous month. Compared to the same period last year this figure went up by 14 176 persons or 8.5 percent.
