Swiss Jobless Rate steady in July


Swiss unadjusted jobless rate remained unchanged at 3.1 percent in July of 2015 from the previous month but above market forecasts, as the number of jobseekers were down while unemployed went up.

In July, there were 133,754 unemployed persons enrolled at the regional employment centers, about 498 more than in the previous month. Compared to the same month a year earlier, unemployment increased by 6,700 persons (+5.3 percent). 

The number of jobseekers reached 190,939 in July of 2015, less 151 persons  than in the previous month but 10.117 more persons than a year earlier (+5.6 percent).

Youth unemployment (15 to 24 years) increased by 1,329 persons (+8.4 percent) to 17,182 persons, and rose  by 535 persons (+3.2 percent) from a year earlier.
