Mexico Unemployment Rate Up to 5.09% in June


In June of 2013, Mexican unemployment rate increased to 5.09 percent, from 4.93 percent reported in May of 2013.


In June, the unemployment rate for men decreased to 4.73 percent, from 4.8 percent reported in the same month a year ago. In contrast, the jobless rate for women increased to 5.39 percent from 4.82 percent in the same month a year ago.

The labor force participation rate at 59.64 percent, was 0.68 percentage point lower than in June of 2012.

Among employed people 42.7 percent were working in services, 19.1 percent in commerce, 16.1 percent in manufacturing, 13.7 percent in agriculture and 7.9 percent in construction.
