Russia Unemployment Rate Stable at 4.9%


In June of 2014, Russian jobless rate was recorded at 4.9 percent, unchanged from the previous month. A year earlier, unemployment was recorded at 5.4 percent.

The number of unemployed people decreased slightly to 3.68 million in June from 3.7 million in May. Year-on-year, unemployment fell 9.8 percent.

There were 869 thousand people officially registered as unemployed in June, 36,000 less than in the previous month. In May, the number fell by 88 thousand. 

Average wages rose 9.6 percent year-on-year to 33563 roubles in June, following a 9.9 percent increase in the previous month. Real wages increased 1.7 percent while real disposable income fell 2.9 percent.
