Swiss Jobless Rate Edges Down in June


Swiss unadjusted jobless rate declined to 3.1 percent in June of 2015 from 3.2 percent in the previous month and beating market forecasts, as the number of jobseekers and unemployed went down.

In June, there were 133,256 unemployed persons enrolled at the regional employment centers, about 3,093 less than in the previous month. Compared to the same month a year earlier, unemployment increased by 6,624 persons (+5.2 percent). 

The number of jobseekers reached 191,090 in June of 2015, less 1,708 persons  than in the previous month but 10,401  more than a year earlier (+5.8 percent).

Youth unemployment (15 to 24 years) decreased by 499 persons (-3.1 percent) to 15,853 persons, and rose  by 901 persons (+6.0 percent) from a year earlier.
