Swiss Inflation Rises 0.6% in June


Swiss annual inflation rose to 0.6 percent in June from 0.4 percent in May, data from the Federal Statistical Office showed on July 7.

On a monthly comparison, consumer prices were down 0.2 percent, mainly due to lower prices for petroleum products and clothing.

Within the overall index, clothing and footwear showed the biggest annual growth of 2.8 percent, followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco, up 2.5 percent. Housing and energy charges advanced 2 percent.
