Spain Inflation Rate Slows To 7-Month Low

Consumer prices in Spain are expected to increase 1.5 percent year-on-year in June 2017, easing from 1.9 percent in May and missing market expectations of 1.6 percent, according to preliminary estimates. It is the lowest inflation rate since November last year, mainly due to a decline in prices of fuel and a slowdown in cost of electricity.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices are expected to be flat compared to a drop of 0.1 percent in May.

The EU-harmonized index is expected to rise 1.6 percent year-on-year, below 2 percent in May and above market expectations of 1.5 percent. Compared to the previous month, the index is expected to be flat.
