Russia Unemployment Rate Falls Again in May


Russian jobless rate decreased for the second consecutive month to 5.6 percent in May from 5.8 percent in April.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 4.29 million in May from 4.42 million in the previous month. A year earlier, the figure was 3.7 million.

Nominal wages rose 7.3 percent year-on-year to an average RUB 34400 (5.2 percent in April) and real pay fell 7.3 percent after dropping by 9.6 percent in the previous month. Real disposable income shrank 6.4 percent (-3.9 percent in April).
