Russia Unemployment Rate Falls in April


Russian jobless rate decreased for the first time in eight months to 5.8 percent in April from 5.9 percent in March.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 4.42 million in April from 4.5 million in the previous month. A year earlier, the figure was 3.98 million.

Nominal wages rose 1 percent year-on-year to an average RUB 32805 (4.5 percent in March), real pay fell 13.2 percent after dropping by 10.6 percent in the previous month. Real disposable income shrank 4 percent (-1.8 percent in March).
