Spain Inflation Rate Down to 1.4% in April


According to the flash estimate issued by the National Statistics Office, the annual inflation of the CPI in April 2013 was expected to be 1.4 percent. In March this variation was 2.4 percent.

This result is mainly a consequence of the decrease in the prices of electricity and fuels and lubricants. In turn, the annual variation of the flash estimate of the HICP in April stood at 1.5 percent. If confirmed, the annual variation of the HICP would decrease 1.1 points as compared with the previous month. 

According to the flash estimate of CPI, consumer prices registered a 0.4 percent increase as compared with the month of March. In turn, the monthly variation of the flash estimate HICP in April stood at 0.1 percent.
