Swiss Unemployment Rate Falls in March


Swiss unadjusted jobless rate declined to 3.4 percent in March of 2015 from 3.5 percent in the previous month as the number of jobseekers and unemployed went down.

In March, there were 145,108 unemployed persons enrolled at the regional employment centers, about 4,813 fewer than in the previous month. Compared to the same month a year earlier, unemployment increased by 2,262 persons (+1.6 percent). 

The number of jobseekers totalized 204,266 in March of 2015, recording 2,103 persons fewer than in the previous month and up 347  persons from a year earlier (+1.9 percent).

Youth unemployment (15 to 24 years) decreased by 840 persons (-4.4 percent) to 18,201 persons, and rose  by 347 persons (+1.9 percent) from a year earlier.
