Mexico Unemployment Rate Down to 4.85 Percent in February


Mexico recorded an unemployment rate of 4.85 percent in the second month of 2013.

The unemployment rate for women was higher than for men, 5.11 percent and 4.69 percent respectively.

Urban unemployment, based on the country´s 32 largest cities, declined to 5.83 percent from 6.32 percent in February of 2012 and was also down from January. 
 
Unemployment among the country´s economically active workforce of 51 million was 4.9 percent in February, compared with 5.3 percent a year earlier.
