Angola Inflation Rate Decelerates


In February of 2014, Angolan annual inflation rate slowed to 7.48 percent, after accelerating in January for the first time in eight months.

A year earlier, prices rose 9.04 percent and in January the inflation was recorded at 7.84 percent.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices slowed to 0.49 percent in February from 0.76 percent in January. Prices of recreation and culture recorded the highest monthly increase (1.27 percent), followed by miscellaneous goods and services (1.16 percent), furniture, housing equipment and routine maintenance of the house (0.75 percent) and clothing and footwear (0.62 percent). 

For 2014, the Government targets the annual inflation between 7 and 9 percent.
