Turkey Inflation Rate Down to 7.0 Percent in February

In February of 2013, there was a rise in CPI over the previous month of 0.30 percent, on December of the previous year of 1.95 percent, on same month of the previous year of 7.03 percent and over the twelve month moving average basis of 8.33 percent.

The indices rose for furnishings and household equipment 1.01 percent, for food and non-alcoholic beverages 0.89 percent, for alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.83 percent, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.49 percent, for health 0.43 percent, for education 0.34 percent, for housing 0.25 percent, for communication 0.18 percent, while the index declined for miscellaneous goods and services 0.18 percent, for recreation and culture 0.63 percent, for clothing and footwear 6.36 percent. 

Housing (10.31 percent), hotels, cafes and restaurants (9.56 percent), miscellaneous goods and services (7.98 percent) were the other indices where high increases were realised. In February 2013, within average prices of 437 items in the index, average prices of 52 items remained unchanged while average prices of 241 items increased and average prices of 144 items decreased.
