Spanish Deflation Slows

Consumer prices in Spain are expected to fall 1.1 percent year-on-year in February of 2015, less than a 1.3 percent drop in January.

Preliminary figures for February came better than market expectations due to higher gasoline and diesel prices. Yet, the inflation rate has been negative since July of 2014.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in February, rebounding from a 1.6 percent fall in January.

The harmonized index is expected increase to an annual -1.2 percent from -1.5 percent and a monthly 0.2 percent.
