Russia Trade Surplus Widens in December


Russia December of 2012 trade surplus rose to $17.1 billion from $15.36 billion in November according to a release from the Central Bank of Russia.

Compared to the previous month, exports increased from $45.45 billion to $48.57 billion and imports rose from $30.1 billion to $31.44 billion in the last month of 2012. In December, the trade surplus fell from $20.65 billion from a year earlier.

The cumulative trade surplus for the whole year fell to $193.8 billion from $198.2 billion in 2011.
