Swiss Jobless Rate Unchanged in January

The unemployment rate in Switzerland remained unchanged at 3.5% in January, official data showed on February 8.

In a report, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs said that Switzerland’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 3.50%, from 3.50% in the preceding month whose figure was revised down from 3.60%.

There were 136,542 unemployed on a seasonally adjusted basis in January, down from 140,090 recorded in December. The unemployment rate of men was stable at 3.8% and that of women stood at 3.7%. The number of vacancies climbed to 17,921 from 15,507 in December.
