The most significant price rises this quarter were for domestic holiday travel and accommodation (+6.2 percent), automotive fuel (+2.6 percent) and rents (+0.8 percent). The most significant price falls this quarter were for vegetables (-5.7 percent), audio, visual and computing equipment (-4.3 percent) and pharmaceutical products (-3.5 percent).
The Consumer Price Index rose 0.2 percent in the December quarter 2012, compared with a rise of 1.4 percent in the September quarter 2012.
