Imports to Albania advanced 10.5 percent year-on-year to ALL 53 billion in September 2017, led by purchases of machinery & equipment (up 16.4 percent); minerals and fuels (68.7 percent); chemical & plastic products (6.6 percent) and food (4 percent). Main import partners were: Italy (up 13.6 percent); Greece (up 8.9 percent) and Switzerland (up 374.9 percent).

Exports from Albania rose 16.8 percent year-on-year to ALL 24 billion in September 2017, mainly boosted by sales of textiles & footwear (up 12.8 percent); construction materials & metals (39.2 percent); food (43.4 percent) and machinery & equipment (56.3 percent). Sales expanded mostly to: Italy (12 percent); Kosovo (31.3 percent); Spain (207 percent) and China (129 percent).

The trade deficit in Albania increased to ALL 29 billion in September of 2017 from ALL 28 billion in the same month of the previous year. Exports rose 16.8 percent year-on-year to ALL 24 billion, mainly boosted by sales of textiles & footwear (up 12.8 percent); construction materials & metals (39.2 percent); food (43.4 percent) and machinery & equipment (56.3 percent). Sales expanded mostly to: Italy (12 percent); Kosovo (31.3 percent); Spain (207 percent) and China (129 percent). Imports advanced at a slower 10.5 percent to ALL 53 billion, led by purchases of machinery & equipment (up 16.4 percent); minerals and fuels (68.7 percent); chemical & plastic products (6.6 percent) and food (4 percent). Main import partners were: Italy (up 13.6 percent); Greece (up 8.9 percent) and Switzerland (up 374.9 percent).
