European Stocks Up, Post 4th Straight Week of Gains
European stock markets closed in the green on Friday, boosted by hopes that the US and China would reach a trade agreement and the UK would avoid a no-deal Brexit. Banks shares were among the best performers amid the latest round of stimulus measures unveiled by the ECB on Thursday and ECB chief Mario Draghi pledge for indefinite stimulus to the Eurozone economy. The DAX 30 gained 58 points, or 0.5% to 12,469; the FTSE 100 added 23 points, or 0.3% to 7,367; the CAC 40 rose 13 points, or 0.2% to 5,655; the IBEX 35 climbed 56 points, or 0.6% to 9,138; and the FTSE MIB went up 98 points, or 0.4% to 22,181.
