Swedish New Orders Drop for 1st Time in 7 Months

Total orders received by Swedish industry dropped by 2.4% year-on-year in May 2025, slipping from an upwardly revised 7.4% rise in the previous month.

This marked the first month of decline since October last year, as both foreign orders (-0.5% vs 8.8% in April) and domestic demand (-5.7% vs 5.4%) decreased.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, new orders fell by 1.4% in May, slowing from a 6.5% loss in the preceding period.
