Retail sales in Lithuania increased by 2% year-on-year in May 2025, slowing from the upwardly revised 4.6% growth in the previous month.

The deceleration largely reflected a more moderate rise in sales of other trade in non-specialized stores (31.1% vs 33.4% in April), as well as declines in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (-0.8% vs 6.7%), and automotive fuel (-10.4% versus -6.8%).

On the brighter side, sales of non-food products grew by 11.1%, accelerating from a 9% increase in April.

On a monthly basis, retail sales edged down 0.1% in May, following a revised 1.7% gain in the prior period.
