Latvia Retail Sales Growth at 7-Month High

Retail sales in Latvia rose by 1.7% year-on-year in July 2025 from a 1.4% gain in the previous month.
Sales increased in sporting equipment, games and toys (38.2% vs 5% in June), cultural and recreational goods (33.2% vs 5%), cosmetic and toilet articles (21.2% vs 1.2%), and electrical household appliances (12.3% vs 11%).
In addition, trading activity recovered for textiles, rugs, wall and floor coverings (7.3% vs -6.7%), via mail order houses or via internet (2% vs -4.8%), automotive fuel (0.8% vs -0.4%), and via stalls and markets (0.7% vs -3.9%).
Moreover, sales declined less for non-specialised stores (-0.3% vs -1.5%) and food, beverages, and tobacco (-1.4% vs -3.2%).
On a monthly basis, retail trade grew by 1.3% in July, following a 0.7% rise in the preceding period.
