Latvia Retail Sales Growth Strongest in 6 Months

Retail sales in Latvia rose by 1.4% year-on-year in June 2025, rebounding from a 2% drop in the previous month.
This marked the strongest growth in retail activity since December 2024, mainly driven by significant increase in non-food products (5.9% vs -0.1% in May).
Notable gains were seen in hardware, instruments, construction materials, and sanitary equipment (11.7%), as well as in the retail sale of ICT equipment (11.0%) and household appliances (10.8%).
In addition, trade activity declined at a slower pace for food products (-3.6% vs -1.3%) and automotive fuel (-0.7% vs -1.3%).
On a monthly basis, retail trade went up by 0.7% in June, recovering from a 0.7% fall in the preceding period.
