Hong Kong Current Account Surplus Widens in Q3

Hong Kong's current account surplus widened to HKD 120.8 billion in the third quarter of 2024, from HKD 111.4 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The goods account deficit shrank to HKD 1.1 billion from HKD 21.4 billion a year ago, while the services account surplus edged up to HKD 39.8 billion from HKD 39.4 billion.

On the other hand, the primary income surplus narrowed to HKD 87.2 billion from HKD 97.7 billion last year, and the secondary income gap increased to HKD 5.1 billion from HKD 4.3 billion.
