The economy of Cyprus expanded by 3.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, following an upwardly revised 3.1% growth in the previous three-month period, preliminary estimates showed.

This latest figure marked the strongest economic expansion since the third quarter of 2024, with positive contributions mainly coming from wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles, information and communication, and hotels and restaurants.

On a quarterly basis, GDP advanced by 0.5% in the second quarter, slowing from an upwardly revised 1.4% expansion in the preceding three-month period.
